Financial and administrative arrangements for UN Sponsored participants

The organizers will provide free of cost, the following for the participants sponsored by UNIDO or other UN bodies:   

1.   Pick up from Trivandrum airport, and all Local transportation. 

2.   Full boarding and lodging (twin sharing basis) for the duration of the Conference for the invited participants (4 days from arrival on 11 December till departure on 15 December 2007). Those who need single accommodation should pay the difference and notify such needs in advance. 

NEITHER HOST COUNTRY NOR UNIDO NOR OTHER SPONSORS WILL ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FOLLOWING COSTS: 

         i. Costs incurred by participants with respect to travel from their home country or duty station to Trivandrum and back, travel insurance, accident insurance related to his/her attendance at the Seminar;  

       ii.  Compensation in the event of death, disability or illness of the participant, during travel to and fro to the Seminar and/or during the stay associated with it;

      iii.   Incidental costs incurred in connection with air travel e.g. passport fee, visa fee, vaccinations, stopovers, and travel to and from the home airports;

     iv.    Loss or damage to personal property of participants attending the Seminar;

       v.   Purchase of personal goods or compensation in the event of damage caused to such goods by climatic or other conditions; and

     vi.    Expenditure related to Telephone, Washing and other personal items.

Registration fee for the International Seminar is Rs.3000 (US$75). No Registration fee will be levied for UN sponsored participants and Members of CC of IN-SHP.

Registration for the Seminar should be completed by 30 November 2007. A registration form is attached to this Information Brochure, which should be filled in and returned as an email attachment or faxed to the following address:

Participants

Eligible for participation are Government functionaries and Agencies involved in policy formulation, implementation and financing of renewable energy projects; International Organizations active in energy development; Manufacturers of small hydro power equipment; Independent Power Producers; Local bodies/Cooperatives developing SHP; NGOs active in rural development and micro hydropower construction; Researchers; Professional societies; Financing Institutions and such other individuals and entities who share the belief that rural electrification is for productive use and empowerment of the society.

The current focus is on participants from English speaking countries, as the language of proceedings is English.  The Organizers reserve the right to restrict participation, owing to financial and logistical reasons, to around 100, on “first come first served” basis. Participants from all continents are welcome.
